ESSPx

GaN-Based Solid-State Power Amplifiers

The ESSPx is the outdoor Solid-State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) series designed and manufactured by Elber with GaN transistor technology, with output power from 50W up to 200W.

Available also as SSPB with in-house designed upconverter, the ESSPA-Ku200 is the 200W Ku-band version. The ESSPx is an integrated unit, comprehensive of power supply and cooling system, housed in a weatherproof cabinet for safe outdoor installation and operation. Safe operation is preserved also through automatic software/hardware shutdown of final stages in case of overtemperature, over-current and high reflected power.

The amplifier is equipped with precise forward and reflected power detection circuitry for correct configuration and monitoring of the amplifier. Combination of basic pallets is just mechanical through waveguide combiners, so that performances can be easily replicated for massive production. Management of the unit can be done either locally (with Hand-held controller) and remotely through serial RS-485/422 or Ethernet connection. A redundancy kit is also available, with autonomous management of 1:1 solution or optionally with external Master control unit, through Cleber platform (one control unit for 2 amplifiers).

CU-01

SSPA/B Controller

Cleber offers a powerful, flexible and modular hardware and software platform for Broadcast Operators, where Customers can install up to six boards with no limitations in terms of position.

Based on a Linux embedded OS, Cleber detects the presence of the boards and shows the related control interface to the user, either through web GUI and Touchscreen TFT display.

Both AC and DC power supplies option are provided, as well as redundant configurations.

The CU-01 is the optional board able to manage single or redundant SSPA and SSPB of ESSPx series. Through serial RS-485/RS-422/RS232 connection it may acquire measurements from the amplifiers/BUC and set configuration parameters, as well as 1:1 redundancy management, driving the waveguide switch.

Every parameters can be easily checked and modified either through front panel TFT display touchscreen and via Ethernet connection (http native web pages and SNMP protocol). Thanks to the embedded Linux OS, specific applications can be developed for Customers.
